Yahoo Messenger for the Web

I’ve used several online messengers, and I will say that this one will be placed on my top 5. May of 2007, Yahoo released this IM client that has no download. Launch any browser (PC, iPhone, etc.), and sign on using your existing yahoo account. Voila! You are online within seconds to connect to roughly 350 million members if you so choose.
Yahoo has worked extra hard, not only to release a nice, slick web application, but also worked hard to ensure it is compatible with all browsers including IE, Safari, Netscape, Opera, and Firefox. Like any web based messenger, Yahoo Messenger is tailored for use by travelers, those who don’t own their own computers, and workers. Jeff Bonforte, Yahoo’s VP of product management commented on his blog:
“Yahoo! Messenger for the Web is live, and folks, it’s about to blow up. Feedback from users is so crazily positive, I expect this will become the primary IM service for millions. See for yourself at http://webmessenger.yahoo.com, or simply http://web.im.”
Another advantage of Yahoo Web Messenger (and others) is that it bypasses IT security restrictions so if you are at work, you will probably be able to use this messenger. You are also able to connect to Windows Live users because of a deal between Microsoft and Yahoo shortly after releasing Yahoo Web Messenger. So you have a simple, fun, and a nice user interface. Try it out if you haven’t already.
