Apple’s Bluetooth mighty mouse still rules the roost.
For me, Apple’s Wireless Mighty Mouse, is the ultimate Bluetooth mouse. I’ve tried just about every other mouse on the market and for my needs (mostly scrolling through web browsers, using MS word and photo management) this is perfect.
Well built, well designed and most importantly, capable of surviving a long term Knowles destructo-test. I have owned this mouse for nearly six months, and the thing is still in one piece, albeit a little discolored. It stared off a beautiful pearly white and has now turned into a grey/brown mess, thanks to my sloppy coffee drinking habits. But it’s still going strong and using the original batteries.
This mouse works as well as any other Bluetooth mouse on just about any surface I have tried. It’s not even fazed when I use it on a slatted wooden table when I am working outside.
Although if you are looking for pinpoint accuracy, like most other Bluetooth mice, this one is perhaps not quite as accurate as some people might need. But this criticism is not just limited to the Apple, and this one is certainly no worse than the Logitech equivalent I tried before settling on the Apple. If you want perfect accuracy, for now, you’ll have to stick to the wired version. Maybe next year? Apple? Anyone listening?

Hrm wonder if it would stand up the The Grizz cub destructo test
However I am convinced to give this thing a whirl that is for sure. Thanks for the review, I am actually amazed I want to try this as normaly I dislike apple. Ah well mindless prejudice is kinda dumb anyway.

Hm…this might be worth a shot so I can give my Wacom’s mouse a rest. One question: did it come with a special set of batteries? I know the batteries that came with my wireless mouse lasted forever, but ever since then they suck whatever I put in dry in no time.

The Grizz,
Hehe. I wonder if your destructo test is as heavy handed as mine. We shall have to have a competition. I like Apple products, but they are kinda greedy. just see what they are doing with the iPhone.

Nion,
Just a couplo of Energizer Lithium AAs. Amazing how long they last. I think that’s down to the built-n power management. The MM turns power off when it’s not being used, so when I am typing, it’s off. Good system.
