Huh? TwitterNotes=/=Twitter?
So TwitterNotes has borrowed the official Twitter layout, added brown, and presented us with another service that we probably already have. Unlike Twitter, TwitterNotes is not a product of Obvious, but of the Portuguese ideias3.
Despite the fact that TwitterNotes is a completely different project, all you need to use it is a Twitter account and the desire/need to take notes. Now I don’t know about you, but I generally consider notes I take for myself to be personal. But as with Twitter, everything’s public. Your notes will be posted for the whole world to see unless you go through the extra process required to have private notes be sent directly to the Tnotes bot. You can sign in to take notes on TwitterNotes or on Twitter. If you do it via TwitterNotes you just have to fill out the proper fields, but to take a note on Twitter you use the following formats: + *note* goes here #tag goes here for public notes and d tnotes *note* goes here #tag goes here for private notes. Use asterisks around any words in a note that you want to tag without adding to the tag list at the end.
To be completely honest, I think TwitterNotes is absolutely pointless. I do keep an online task list, but I would rather stick a post-it to my monitor than use TwitterNotes. Try it for yourself at twitternotes.com. And no, I don’t know why the ‘n’ is backwards.

Is it just me or does it seem like there are an endless array of products that all do the same thing anymore?

It’s not just you; that is most definitely (and most unfortunately) the case. I can’t even say that all the copy cats will eventually fade away because as one does, I’m sure a new one will take its place.
