Phillips SA9345 MP3 Video Player

OK, this could be the iPod Nano killer. Phillips recently announced it’s own competition for the iPod nano, the SA9345 PMP. Although I think they are going to have to come up with a catchier name than that if they plan on stealing some of Apple’s customers.

The SA 9345 is actually smaller than the nano and weighs in at a respectable 48 grams. The price seems a little steep, with a 2GB version to retail at around $200 and the 4GB around $260. Main features of the SA9345 are:

Touch sensitive keys for intuitive control
1.8” backlit color display
20 hours of music or 4 hours of video playtime
Store up to 2000 songs or 1000 photos or 16 hours of videos
Auto sync with Windows Media Player
Charge directly from your PC via USB
Control playback while browsing your media library
Playlist on the go and Delete function for easy organization
Unique album art navigation
Plays WMV videos purchased online or from your PC

It certainly looks the part, but whether or not it will kill the nano off is another matter. I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on one and the release date is early October, so maybe I’ll settle for one of these instead of a Gold MacBook Pro. *sighs*
