MTube What is it?

Here are a few photos of the latest and possibly greatest gadget to come out of Taiwan. No release date as yet, no firm facts and figures on it’s capabilities, but Taiwan’s Science and Technology Advisory group (STAG) has put out a few photos and technical specs. It’s not an iPod, it’s not an iPhone. All I know is that it’s an “MTube” with:

  • Processor: VIA C7-M @ 1.0 GHz
  • Storage: 8 GB Flash
  • Display: 2.8″ LCD
  • Resolution: 640 x 480
  • Dimensions: 8.5 cm x 8.5 cm x 2 cm
  • Weight: 150 g
  • Battery Life: 4 hours
  • Connectivity: WiMAX & WiFi
  • Video Codecs: H.264, WMV, RMVB, MOV, FLV, DIVX

So, I don’t even know what it is, but I already want one. Whatever it is, it’s too cool not to have one. Here are a few more pics. As I get more news, I will post more about it. If anyone has more information, please let me know.

Please increase the panel size to fit as much of the device surface as possible. It’s sexier and easier to read from :)
