Mix Tapes Gone Digital

So you love your music, huh? Well so does every other person who’s ever drowned out the world through a set of headphones. Show how much your favorites songs and artists mean to you with Mixaloo; and make some money while you’re at it.

With Mixaloo you can create mixes of your favorite music for free and share the playlist on your blog or site. Once published, anyone can listen to and, if they so desire, buy your mix. And every time someone buys one of your mixes, you get half the profit.

No matter how I look at it, Mixaloo seems like a win-win deal. Access to and sharing of the music is free, and both the user and record labels get paid (users also earn redeemable points). If Mixaloo continues to evolve and succeed, I hope to see it play a part in improving the situation musicians are being put in due to pirating. While Mixaloo is still developing, it still lacks several albums–it’s rather disappointing to think up a nice mix only to find that half of the albums aren’t available yet. But this will surely improve in time.

Mixaloo is currently in private beta. TechCrunch was given a thousand invites for its users, so try to snag one by picking up the code here. Learn more about Mixaloo at www.mixaloo.com.
