iPod touch – wait for 2.0?

Posted on 02 November 2007 by Mark Knowles

I defy you to look at an iPod touch directly in the eye (as it were) and not want one. 8mm thick, although Apple describe it as 8mm thin, which is annoying and one of the few things that put me off. I am not so stupid I need to be told that 8mm is “thin.”

It is a fine looking piece of equipment, almost like an iPhone without the phone. You can browse the internet, listen to music, watch video on the absolutely stunning 3.5 inch widescreen display, although why the screen is 3.5 inches and the thickness is 8mm is beyond me. It seems like the marketing department is the tail wagging the dog. For goodness’ sake, please don’t treat me like a moron or I might go back to….No that’s OK, I guess you can treat me like a moron when I have no other options. Sorry I said anything. Please don’t stop me from being allowed to buy your products.

Unlike the iPhone, you can buy as many of these as you want. I think I’ll be biding my time with this one though. I have a feeling next years’ iPod touch 2.0 will kick this one into touch pretty smartly with rumors of third party applications available……. But, it is real purdy.

If I didn’t have an iPhone, I would def. have one of these. They are great!

The iPod Touch you buy Today will be upgradeable to the 2.0 through firmware updates.
So if you wait you’ll just be prolonging your iNirvana… :O)
