Samsung F700 phone - top iPhone competition
The Samsung F700 announced recently is still the likely number one competition for the iPhone, but I don’t think it’s going to slow sales of the iPhone down much.
The Samsung is, in some ways, a better product, if only by virtue of the slide out keyboard positioned neatly under the screen. We are already hearing complaints about the iPhone screen becoming scratched and very expensive to replace, so it looks like this particular feature was a stroke of genius. Main features of the phone include a 5 megapixel camera, touch pad technology, and impressive download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps.
One thing that lets this phone down though is the lack of WiFi connectivity and I’m not sure I see the point of full internet browsing capability without it.
Vodaphone are due to launch this phone next week, so we’ll just have to wait and see how it holds up over the long term, but I do like the idea of the keyboard under the screen.
Perhaps Apple and Samsung could get together for the next release, combine the best features of each one and produce a hybrid? Come on guys, how about a keyboard AND WiFi?
In the meantime, we are all waiting for a genuine iPhone killer to hit the streets.
