Five Useful Services To Access From Your Phone

Everyone loves free stuff! I looked at the free top five useful services that anyone can access with their phone. You will see below a list of web services where your phone plays a main part in the service. Whether you need someone to wake you up in the morning, or even detailed driving directions, even to make free overseas call, it’s all here and accessible from your phone; Your mobile phone, or your landline phone. Enjoy!
1. Free411 - is a free alternative to costly 411-directory service, simply dial 1-800-FREE411 and get the listing you need. There are many more also. Microsoft Live recently launched a service that does similar things and that service allows you to share a phone number via text message as well as the detailed information they already provide: 1-800-225-5411. Google has even stepped into the market and their free directory service can be used by dialing 1-800-GOOG-411.
2. Jott - is a simple and convenient service that lets you leave yourself notes, ToDo’s or remainders directly from your phone. Dial a given number (1-877-568-8486), as you speak system will record your message, convert it to text, and send it to the provided email address. It is not the most accurate speech to text system I’ve used, but it is pretty close.
3. TelePixie - is a pretty fun service that lets you schedule free memo phone calls i.e. wake-up calls, reminder, weather forecasts, jokes, news, stock alerts and more.
4. Gotvoice - is a neat service. If you don’t have the luxury of owning an iPhone, this service offers a solution that is similar to Visual Voicemail. It converts voicemails from your home and cell phone into MP3s and sends them to you by email. Other features include:
a. save, organize and access your voicemails online
b. auto-share received voicemails with others
c. send voice messages to several people simultaneously
d. reply to voicemail without ringing the recipient’s phone
e. create personalized greetings for different callers
5. GrandCentral - is another neat service that was reviewed here by us. One number for all your phones! It also features web-based centralized voicemail system, call recording, spam filters, setup custom caller greetings, switch calls between any of your phones, and save and organize voicemails online. I love the service and the best part besides being free is that you do not have to give people your real number. You are in control of every call.
I hope you find most, if not all these services to be useful. I sure have. There are so many more out there and probably requires a whole other blog to talk about each service available today. However, be sure to check back as I may list some more services that you may want to check out.
