Don’t Know The Answer? Mosio Does!

Have you ever been in a situation where you needed an answer quickly, but could not think of where exactly to get the answer. I have a solution! I was out to dinner with some friends at Red Lobster, when suddenly an argument began on the age of Hilary Clinton. Why that started, who knows, but it occurred to me that there is a service that answers your question immediately, and for FREE.

Dubbed Mosio, this service allows you to text whatever question you have, and real people will answer it for you, and reply via text.

So, going back to the age of Hillary Clinton, I just sent them the question and some seconds later got a text back:

Hillary Clinton was born in 1947 so she is 60 years old

There it was. The answer right in the palm of my hands, which ended the argument very quickly as everyone was off by years. The company specializes in mobile Q&A, letting anyone with a phone ask a question via SMS or e-mail and get public replies back from other Mosio members. The site launched at the beginning of August and has since answered a good number of questions.

Like some other Q&A services, to ask and answer a question you have to be a registered user, which Mosio calls “QnAgents.” Unlike some expert-driven sites such as Citizendium, there are no prerequisites for being a Mosio agent, just the hope that you know the answers to the questions you are answering, or will go through the effort to research them. To ask a question, just write it as a text message and send it to ask@mosio.com. If anyone answers, you will get a text back with his or her response.

In addition to simple Q&A, Mosio also offers a host of “apps,” which are free, subscription-based text services that range from birthday reminders to content feeds from news providers.

So check them out. They are totally free and the service just might save your life…or a test grade as I have recently found out that some people use the service to get answers for school tests. I wish I knew about the service when I was in school!
