Logitech VX Nano Laser Mouse

Posted on 13 November 2007 by Mark Knowles

I nearly bought a new mouse this week. I almost fell in love with the new Logitech VX Nano Mouse. Almost but not quite.

Let me say , first of all that this is the best mouse I have ever laid my fat fingers on. And therein lies the problem – the fat fingers are accompanied by appropriately large palms. This mouse is awesome, the precision of the laser is stunning and it destroyed my Apple Mighty Mouse in a direct comparison. But it’s just too small for my hands.

The Logitech VX Nano measures a microscopic 102×61x25 mm, which makes it truly portable. It’s ergonomic ambidextrous design should make it just as comfortable for the left-hookers amongst us and it is a sensible color for something that is going to get coffee spilt on it on a regular basis – black.

I like it a lot. The only drawback I can see apart from the smallness ( and that won’t bother a lot of people) is the fact that it’s wireless rather than Bluetooth. I think that is helping with the precision, but it’s only a matter of time before the USB plug-in fails the Knowles destructotest™ or gets lost.

So listen up Apple – what I want is a high precision Bluetooth laser mouse that fits my sweaty large paws, works with any system and comes in a nice grey. Understood? Let me know when you’ve taken care of that.
