Verizon launches the Chocolate LG in blue

Verizon has just announced the introduction of the “Chocolate” by LG in Blue Ice with the tagline, “As Cool as it is Sweet.” Which is not a bit tongue-in-cheek on their part, in fact, they are deadly serious which leads me to suspect sales of this particular model have not gone as well as hoped. Why else make such a fuss of introducing a new color? The Press release is here.

The LG Chocolate or KG800, is a fairly well respected phone, the sound quality is higher than average and it’s a good looker.

Small, although LG didn’t manage to get it less than 10mm thick a la Armani phone. Guess they just weren’t trying hard enough. It got good reviews around the various gadget sites when it was launched and British site techdigest even managed to pinch one at the release party back in May last year.

The appealing thing about this one, is the styling, although, along with the iPhone, the addition of a piece of plate glass on the front is bound to cause a few problems when using the phone on a day-to-day basis.

I am still a little underwhelmed at the fact that there’s a new color phone on the market, but if you like this one there are lots of colors available from Amazon at a good price.
