Asus Web Cam/Scanner

Posted on 24 December 2007 by Mark Knowles

Asus just keep getting more and more inventive. Not content with producing the stunning eee PC which is taking the market by a storm, the latest idea to come out of the Asus labs are the AF-200 and MF-200 webcam / business card scanners.

The two units are apparently identical, except for the fact that one is auto focus and the other is manual. I will let you guess which one’s which.

They both take 8 megabyte still photos or 2 megabyte movies and come with a business card holder and scanning software that can read and translate a business card into text.

It looks as though the cameras can be mounted just about anywhere, so all you budding webcam girls get ready for a camera that will double as a work tool and do the business at the same time.

Asus is having a good year – no prices or availability on these yet, but as and when, you will be the first to know. Watch this space. If they are as good as the company’s other products, they are sure to be a hit.
