Samsung Q1 Ultra HSDPA

Posted on 27 December 2007 by Mark Knowles

Samsung are advertising their new Q1 Ultra HSDPA as broad band on the go. If you can find a mobile phone signal, you can go online. And with speeds of up to 10Mbps, that’s faster than many home connections (mine included.)

Don’t go mistaking this for some sort of mobile phone on steroids though, the Q1 Ultra is pretty big, and this mobile must have taken a few too many – nearly 10 inches by 5.5 and an inch thick – weighing 1.7 lbs.

Specs include a 800MHz Intel A110 CPU, 1GB of DDR2 400MHz memory, a 60GB hard drive, Wi-Fi, and an guesstimated 4-hour battery life. Battery not included. So, the guesstimated $2000 price needs an immediate accessory added.

Already available in Hong Kong, the new Q1 Ultra seems to perform extremely well and you will easily be able to find a chiropractor online to fix that bad back caused by lugging it around.

Here it is in action at the ITU Telecom World in Hong Kong.
