USB Television Adapter for Mac
If I am reading this correctly, Apple Japan have started selling a USB adapter which allows you to pick up TV channels.
It looks just like almost any number of USB keys, but with an antenna and TV receiver built-in. It would seem you can pick up, watch and record TV channels with this gadget.
It connect through any USB post, comes with a “booster circuit” and “double noise filter,” is super high sensitive and can also transmit.
It looks as though it wil be able to pick up digital signals and will also work with Apple’s remote controls.
That’s all the details we have at the moment, apart from the price – 12,800 Yen – around $115. Apple USA and UK are not selling these and it seems they won’t be. The British government keeps a tight control on these sort of gadgets to protect us from terrorists. I for one feel much safer knowing this evil gadget will not be available. Goodness knows it’s not about the TV tax we have to pay.
