So You Think You Can Dance?
What if I told you that you could learn how to dance from a well-known choreographer? What if I told you that you could learn from that choreographer in the comfort of your home? What if I told you that you could earn prizes by submitting your cool moves to thousands? Unfortunately, I don’t have what it takes (yet), but I can learn, and you can too!
Shane Sparks (So You Think You Can Dance and You Got Served) has contributed his skills in choreography to Peter Kappes’ new online dance school. Not including Sparks, there are seven other professional choreographers to help teach you how to dance. Sparks is known for his hip-hop styled dance routines, but what if you are not really interested in hip-hop? Not to worry. In addition to hip-hop, you can learn Salsa, Steppin, Krump, Jazz, House, and Breakdancing.
Joining DigitalDancers is free and you will be joining over 300,000 members to dance the night away, but for a cost; a small cost. Each choreographer has an “About Me” page with videos and pictures so you can get to know the teacher a little better. Each choreographer also has a schedule. Different choreographers teach on a certain days. There is a calendar so you are able to click on the day and see who is teaching for the day. I am able to see that Shane Sparks will be teaching a 2-hour hip-hop class starting at 6PM for only $4.00. This is not a bad price to pay for being taught by Shane Sparks.
Once you take a few classes or more and feel you are top notch, you can submit a video of yourself and you can be judged for prizes. Already have a video to submit? No problem. Go ahead and see if you can impress others with it.
“The great thing about the site is that there really is something for everyone. You can just log on and check out clips of Shane Sparks, or the user videos, you can post your own videos, compete against other dancers in online video dance battles for prizes and even take live online classes from Shane Sparks himself or any of our choreographers. Dance studios can even promote their spaces and earn extra money by having any of the sites dancers or choreographers teach classes live on real time streaming video over the net and so much more. We are really spreading our wings and so much of that is a result of new user feedback.”
To me, watching people dance is like looking at art. Each piece of art is different in its own way, just like a dancer. However, looking at a dancer is a little more interesting than looking at art. Both way, it is a joy to learn and watch and there are over 300,000 members that can attest to that.
DigitalDancers has established itslef as one of the most successful in the world and has been featured on MTV, so what are you waiting for? Get signed up to take some classes. Perhaps I might see you on TV one day.
Now if you could excuse me. I have to prepare for my next dancing lesson on DigitalDancers.com!
