Netgear WDNA3100 Wireless-N USB Adapter

Posted on 15 January 2008 by Mark Knowles

I can’t say I am terribly excited about the fact that there is going to be a new Wireless-N USB adapter entering the market place, but hey, I have to write something.

In the unlikely event that you are looking for a new dual band Wireless-N USB device, this looks as though it might be worth waiting for.

Netgear have just announced the WDNA3100 and submitted the specs to the FCC for approval. It supports both WEP and WPA/WPA 2, so it should hit the spot for the three of you who don’t have built-in Wireless capability.

And for those of you with an insatiable curiosity as to how things work here is a photo of the insides. Who knew you could get that many soldering points on the circuit board of a thing this small?

I guess it’s nice to see an American manufacturer at the forefront of cutting edge technology, but I am nearly falling asleep just writing this.

I have no idea on price or availability, but it should be any time soon. For those of you still holding your breath, you will just have to be patient like the rest of us.
