Having an external site link to you will almost instantly boost traffic to your site. Also, keeping a blog, even if the content is random, will result in search engine traffic. I've gotten traffic from really weird search strings before. Here are a few other traffic generators off the top of my head: - Comment on other blogs and be sure to add your link. If there's content on another site you want to share on your blog, send a trackback. - If you are a member of a social networking site, be sure to include your website in the profile. - Tell people about your site face to face. Never underestimate the power of word of mouth. - If you offer a service on your site, have some business cards printed up and distribute them.
