Jovan Washington (A.K.A. JoCoWash), Communications major and tech enthusiast, has been very fascinated in all sorts of technology since he was a small child. Washington discovered the joys of having his first tech item that changed his life.

After being rewarded with good grades, he received a 256KB of memory, giant floppy disk, IBM desktop computer in 1990. He loved it! Through the years, he had to have the biggest and baddest technology, ranging from most laptops, desktops, handhelds (Newton), and more. Aside from his urge to spend all his hard earned cash on tech, he was lucky enough to become a tech reviewer for a while and save some money to write about some amazing products.

At the age of eighteen, Washington discovered the wonders of having the best of both worlds, owning his first Apple Powerbook G4. Although not a full switcher, he enjoys being able to use a Windows machine as well as an Apple machine to experience and have the knowledge of Apple and Microsoft. Over the years of learning and reading (his favorite blog: Engadget) about technology and witnessing the impact that it has on our world today, he eventually decided to write about it himself.

New and wonderful things come out every day to make our lives so much easier so he thought it was appropriate to start his own personal news blog called What’s newS. The blog features a bunch of random news, reviews and more, mostly being tech. Started in 2005, the name of the blog derived from the definition of news and what’s actually new in technology these days. Although made mostly for friends and family, he eventually started generating much more traffic than anticipated. Small traffic in comparison, but an accomplishment he is very proud of and it helped him to land two wonderful opportunities.

In addition to The Tech Brief and his day job, Washington also writes for iPhone Matters. This blog features one of his all-time favorite devices - The iPhone. They cover all iPhone related news. Although not full time at any of his writing positions, he hopes to continue writing more frequently, eventually becoming a full time writer for what he loves most - Technology.
