It’s easy to get sponsored with EasySponsorship.com

Posted on 12 November 2007 by TheGrizz

Does your soccer team need new uniforms? Does your church group need to raise money to pay for a trip? Do you want to raise money by running a marathon? Most people have been involved in sponsorship efforts in some way, and now there is a website to use for this purpose. After looking the website over and poking around a bit (I did not have a real thing to sponsor so I felt actually signing up for the service was a bit unethical), I decided that this would be a great site for anyone looking to raise a little bit of money over a short time. This site would not be good for massive capital campaigns however, but I don’t think that is the intention of EasySponsorship.com.

From what I gathered the site works as follows. First you sign up, then you spend some time designing a page (which Easysponsorhip.com generously provides tools for), once your page is created you set sponsorship goals. Once you have your goals established you are pretty much done. Then you promote the site by emailing everyone you know and hoping they are willing to sponsor your project. It is here that I think they could improve a bit. One of the main reasons a site like this would be appealing to someone is making it easier to get sponsors. Yet in the end you are left to promote the page and gather your own sponsors. This leads me to wonder why bother when really alls I have accomplished is putting my sponsorship online. Another problem I have is that you can’t request money from EasySponsorship.com until you have made at least twenty percent of your goal. Why? Isn’t it my money and if I only made five or ten percent through the site why can’t I have it?

Yet despite the faults, I do see some value to the site and if ever I have a need for sponsorship drives, I will certainly give them another look. If you or someone you know has had experience with this site please let me know, I would love to know how it turned out.

Weebly-Website Creation Made Easy

Posted on 09 November 2007 by JoCoWash

Making a website can be somewhat difficult so this is where a cool service called Weebly steps in. Instead of fumbling around with foreign languages (HTML) to achieve optimal design results, Weebly presents you with a very simple AJAX-based interface allowing you to drag and drop elements to customize your site design. Brilliant!

Weebly is an online web site creator and hosting web application. Weebly allows novice users to upload and get their contents online without having to learn the sometimes complicated HTML and JavaScript web programming. Best of all, the free Weebly site creation and hosting service is as easy to use as Google Page Creator.

There are a number of built in themes, most of which are very attractive, that can be selected at the press of the mouse button. A professional looking website is literally at your fingertips and can be crafted in just a couple of seconds on Weebly’s site. I’ve noticed when using Weebly, that if you have a rather large project, Weebly will run a little slow.

If you have always wanted to make a website, but just didn’t know how, or where to start, this is the service for you. It is cool, it is simple to use, and it is FREE. Even if you have designed websites before, check Weebly out.

Backup Your Stuff on Byteswap

Posted on 06 November 2007 by T.W. Garrett

Byteswap is a free service (a virtual file cabinet as they call it) that allows you to upload and store files, contacts, Web links, photos, recipes – you name it! All uploaded items are nicely organized in folders. You can use the pre-named folders or you can rename them. You can also add information about the uploaded files, enabling you to know exactly why something is saved. You don’t get a true feel for Byteswap until you sign up. Their homepage and information links are a bit dense and it doesn’t look like much. However, once you sign up, it takes you to your personal dashboard which is customizable and has a lot more options.

Byteswap currently offers a Firefox toolbar that allows you to add links or pictures to your library from the Web. In addition to Firefox, an IE toolbar is in the works. This makes it a lot easier while surfing the Web to quickly save something that you consider a file-worthy item.

You can also make money with Byteswap by putting together a specific type of information that interests a group of people. When individuals view your content, they will see Adsense ads that are related to your content. If they click on the ad, then you get paid. If you are familiar with Adsense, you should know that you need quite a few clicks to make money.

When hovering over an item you’ve saved, a smooth screen shows a preview of the item. I think this is a useful aspect of the site.

You can make your content private or public. If your items are published publicly, then you can share them with friends and other Byteswap users. Byteswap also provides groups to join that serve to share content among users will similar interests. Byteswap is a good option for those of us who like to save lots of pictures and documents on our computers. This is a free way to backup some items in case a virus brings your computer down. Try it out at www.byteswap.com.

Famundo is myspace for the entire family

Posted on 01 November 2007 by TheGrizz

Of all the social networking sites, applications, and other things available on the internet, I have often wondered when one focused on being something the entire family can use and benefit from would show up. Well it finally has and it bears the name Famundo. This site is absolutely wonderful and is really something almost the entire family can enjoy. From its calendar that allows each family member to post their appointments, to the family library where everyone can share blogs, papers and a mess of other things, there is no shortage of ways to involve the family on this website.

While the site is great for use by the family, it also has an added benefit of social networking. Say for instance you have a far flung extended family, well now they have a site they can visit that allows them to not only see what your family is up to, but to leave comments as well, also they can start their own Famundo page so you can keep tabs on them as well. Another great feature of the site is that you can also create personal web pages. This allows you and the rest of your family to have a special place on the internet in a family safe environment.

I actually have no complaints about this page, and intend to make full use of it. Feel free to get your own family page at Famundo . Also you can watch a great how to video here.

Ten Reasons to Try Zoji

Posted on 31 October 2007 by T.W. Garrett

Zoji is an online, social networking community that offers helpful tools, simple searching and invitations with a twist. Below, I have put ten good reasons to try it out:

Familiarity: Zoji has aspects that are similar to Craigslist, wherein your main screen can be tailored to your hometown since everything you see, places you go, events you attend and parties you throw are all in the same city.

Hip Invites: Zoji allows you to create pretty awesome invites and send them out to your friends. Your friends can accept your invitation without signing up – which is great! After the event is over, all of your friends can share pictures and post comments on how much fun they had.

Here’s a snippet of my party on Happy Street!

Calendar of Memories: Zoji has a built in calendar that keeps all of your invites and party pictures on the date the event occurred. The calendar gives you an overall view of your adventurous year.

Customization: It wouldn’t be a complete social networking site if you couldn’t customize your profile, and therefore Zoji offers Profile pages VERY similar to Myspace. This should make people happy, right?

Stay “In the Know”: If you are planning to travel to an area or just looking for places close to home, Zoji allows you to search for tasty restaurants, upbeat clubs, and bars within miles of a zip code. Once you find a restaurant that interests you there is an option to “plan an event” right on the restaurant page, which then instantly directs you to the invitation creation station.

Give Props: If you consider yourself well-versed in your city and you know the best dish to eat at the “hole-in-the-wall” diner, you can write a review. You can bring in more business for your favorite place.

Rock On: Who doesn’t love music? You can search “bandz” in your city and see who is playing in your area. You can organize friends to go check out a band, and with a click you can become a fan. Most Zoji promoted bandz have an instant-listen mp3.

Easy Instant Messaging: Zoji has built-in instant messaging. You can see when friends are online and IM them for a quick chat. The best part about this is that there is NO DOWNLOAD!

No Limits: My favorite aspect about Zoji is that you can upload pictures for friends and family to view. Contrary to other social networking sites, Zoji lets you upload full-sized original pictures so recipients can have high quality prints developed, putting an end to tiny, fuzzy, pixelated photos.

Friends: Zoji brings people together and keeps them busy with its various event planning tools. Zoji seems to be pretty cool.

Zoji is a combination of a couple different popular sites, and I think it can work in their best interests.

Check out Zoji.
