Possibly the most garish iPod accessory ever created has been revamped for the Christmas season. The Ixos XM1908 Disco Cube is an iPod speaker, complete with flashing lights that flash to the beat of the music, with two side firing speakers and a sub woofer.
The only good thing I can say about this revolting piece of plastic, is at least you can turn the lights off, thank God. I must be getting old, because one look at this thing is enough to have me reaching for a large hammer. It offends me in ways I do not yet fully understand.
But if you must have one, the full specifications can be found at the manufacturer’s website. According to Ixos, the, “Cool Cube Design comes alive when you play your iPod.” There I go reaching for the hammer again.
Although I suggest you ask yourself why on earth you would want to buy one? – The only reason I can possibly think of is to annoy your parents.
It’s not often I come across a gadget that I just plain dislike on sight, but this one does it for me. If you buy one, keep it away from me, especially if I’m carrying a hammer. In the meantime, “Peace Love and Psychedelic drugs, Dude.”

And don’t forget, we are coming to the end of the giveaway competition. The Tech Brief is giving away an iPod nano.
